It's common knowledge that when aliens invade one's planet, there is only one proper response to such extraterrestrial aggressors: You shoot them. And shoot them you shall in Alien Shooter: Vengeance, a third-person alien-shooting action game with hints of RPG thrown in for good measure. The game is set in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic world where scientists from the M.A.G.M.A. Corporation have opened a gateway to another dimension, thus allowing hordes of aliens to assault Earth. Alien Shooter uses an isometric viewpoint similar to Diablo, although you control your character in a different manner. Instead of clicking on a location to move your character, you move with the WASD keys, and your cursor is a targeting reticle to aim your guns.
Alien Shooter: Vengeance has two modes of play: campaign mode and survival mode. In the campaign mode, which consists of 15 missions and has four levels of difficulty, you play the role of a mercenary who has been hired by M.A.G.M.A to clean up the mess after their experiments went awry. Along the way, you'll get to employ a large arsenal of weapons and several handy gadgets, and you'll also receive some help from various NPCs. Several of the missions allow you to pilot a vehicle, such as a jeep or a tank, or take control of a remote-controlled drone. Throughout the missions, you'll be given various objectives to complete, with some being optional. Dispersed throughout the levels are numerous secret locations; some levels have upwards of 20 hidden locations, so it can be rather tricky to find them all.
It can take anywhere from three to six hours to complete the full campaign mode, but it's quite replayable, and you can go through again on a different difficulty level, or you can opt to retry any of the missions that you've completed thus far. Whether you're trying to find all of the secret areas or just enjoying the massive amounts of shooting carnage, Alien Shooter offers an easy pick-up-and-play experience that people can come back to later.
In survival mode, you must fight off wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies, who randomly drop power-ups when they die. This mode quickly becomes difficult because you can be surrounded very easily. After losing all of your lives, your score is tallied based on the amount of time you survived and the number of enemies defeated. You also have the ability to submit your score to online leaderboards if you want to see what your ranking is and compete for top scores.
It doesn't take long before you get down to what the title is all about — shooting aliens. Shoot-'em-up action may not be your cup of tea, but for those who enjoy arcade-style hack-and-slash, Alien Shooter delivers. At first, the aliens come at you in small groups, but the numbers quickly ramp up until you're suddenly facing hundreds of extraterrestrial baddies; in the later levels, enemy swarms can number well over 1,000.
he production values are below par, but that's to be expected for a bargain title that retails for only $20. The game also suffers from some bugs and a few design oversights, such as areas in which your character can get stuck, thereby forcing you to restart the level. Despite its drawbacks, Alien Shooter delivers in the gameplay department and provides a solid and fun experience. The action is fast and fluid, and the animations of alien hordes being obliterated are very satisfying to watch. Their body parts and blood remain on the ground indefinitely, which creates a startling visual effect. The weapons have good balance as well, and in the later stages, you can select a weapon from any of the five categories.
Alien Shooter: Vengeance doesn't bring anything fancy or new to the table, and it certainly doesn't win any awards fro graphical realism. However, the game does present solid arcade-style gameplay that is relatively simplistic but pretty fun at the same time. At only $20, it's worth picking up — or purchasing online — if you enjoy evenings filled with some good hack-and-slash action.

weapons, prototype vehicles and units rarely seen in strategy games in an attempt to re-write or secure the historical outcome.
War Front is a state-of-the-art WWII 3D RTS game providing fast-paced, adrenaline pumping conquests. Players will feel the atmosphere of WW2 in a new environment; besides commanding their existing units, they have to care about reinforcements, resource management and researching new prototypes.
Choose what missions to fight, what troops to use, and when to call in reinforcements.
Completing objectives and capturing strategic locations such as train stations or airfields in each mission will help you to win subsequent campaigns.
Each mission has multiple primary and secondary objectives that are connected to other missions, providing almost limitless strategic choices.
War Front is definitely not a 'historic simulation' but a game with FUN being its number one priority.
Expect slightly excessive explosions, realistic night mission feeling and visualization made with dynamic lighting 3 Campaigns with unique storylines.

You play as Jack Walters, a private investigator with a history of mental instability. But he's fine now, honest. Jack is trying to get his life and his career back on track, but he just can't seem to remember a six-year period from his past. Soon after the opening of the game, a missing-persons case takes Jack's attention away from his own predicament. He finds himself in the quiet port of Innsmouth, a little-known shantytown with a rather standoffish populace. It's a dismal place on first impression, filled with rundown buildings and thuggish residents who gurgle veiled threats in response to Jack's inquiries. Before long, Jack begins to uncover a sinister secret lurking just beneath the surface. He asks one too many questions and soon finds himself fighting for his life against unspeakable horrors. The game does a great job of gradually magnifying the sense of danger and the scope of the mess that Jack has gotten himself into, and it also does pretty well at evoking the early-20th-century period in which the story takes place.

Spod palców jej programistów wyszły przecież tak znane produkcje jak Screamer 2, Screamer Rally, seria Superbike czy Racing Evoluzione. Dziwię się więc, że SCAR: Squadra Corse Alfa Romeo budzi w graczach tak niewielkie emocje.
Przyczyną takiego stanu rzeczy jest zapewne kiepski marketing. Ludzie z Milestone nie zrobili póki co nic, by swój program spopularyzować. Ograniczyli się do opublikowania dwóch informacji prasowych oraz garści screenshotów, które możecie zobaczyć obok tej zapowiedzi. Wyłania się z nich naprawdę ciekawa, nieszablonowa gra samochodowa, która już jesienią powalczy o miano najlepszej w swoim gatunku.

After a few years on hiatus, Indiana Jones is back in a new adventure on the Xbox and PC. Much like The Collective's previous game, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb boasts an amazing combat system, great story, and perfectly captures the feel of our favorite whip-cracking hero. Though The Emperor's Tomb might not be the best Xbox game on the market, it is one of the most entertaining in recent memory. My full enjoyment of the game made me decide that it should be honored with its own thorough walkthrough. As this is my first attempt at writing an FAQ, I'm sure there will be many additions to this walkthrough over time; hopefully it'll help more than a few of you through some of Indy's stickier situations.

Programiści tamtejszego dystrybutora, firmy Peach Princess, przetłumaczyli wszystkie dialogi i zadbali, by ani jeden znaczek katakany czy hiragany nie pojawił się na ekranie. Dzięki temu każda osoba znająca język angielski jest w stanie poradzić sobie z zawiłościami X-Change 2. Miłe? Jasne, że miłe. W Krainie Kwitnącej Wiśni nie brakuje ciekawych gier z gatunku hentai/bishojo, lecz niewiele trafia na zachodni rynek. Bariera językowa jest zaś z reguły zbyt duża, by ściągać sobie tzw. eksporty bezpośrednio z japońskich sklepów internetowych.

Call of Duty 2 to pełnoprawny sequel wydanej pod koniec 2003 roku strzelanki pierwszoosobowej (gry akcji/FPS), z fabułą osadzoną w realiach II Wojny Światowej, która zdobyła mnóstwo nagród i uznanie graczy na całym świecie. Za przygotowanie drugiej części ponownie odpowiada studio developerskie Infinity Ward, w skład którego wchodzą między innymi osoby pracujące w przeszłości nad Medal of Honor: Allied Assault.
Gracze po raz kolejny dostali do przejścia trzy kampanie, historycznie nawiązujące do lat 1941-1945. Jako amerykański spadochroniarz walczymy głównie w Europie Zachodniej (lądowanie w Normandii i późniejsze bitwy mające na celu wyparcie Niemców z terenów Francji, Belgii czy Holandii), wybierając rolę brytyjskiego komandosa przenosimy się do Afryki Północnej (Tunezja, itp.) a następnie pomagamy Amerykanom w walkach we Francji. Z kolei decydując się na grę rosyjskim piechurem trafiamy pod Stalingrad oraz prowadzimy działania na froncie wschodnim. Nowością jest tutaj możliwość przełączania się pomiędzy poszczególnymi kampaniami, tak aby przykładowo przechodzić je w kolejności chronologicznej.
Wirtualne zmagania jeszcze bardziej symulują prawdziwą bitwę. Na planszach pojawia się większa ilość żołnierzy, zarówno naszych sojuszników jak i wrogów, w tle słychać odgłosy wystrzałów (starcie nie toczy się wyłącznie przed naszymi oczami), nie sposób nie wspomnieć również o wprowadzeniu około 20,000 linii wypowiedzi żołnierzy (okrzyki w stylu „przeładowuję broń!”, „osłaniaj mnie!”, „padnij!” są na porządku dziennym, zwiększając tym samym realizm rozgrywki). Liczne wymiany ognia wpływają na otoczenie. Budynki niszczą się, podobnie zresztą jak wybrane obiekty, w ziemi pozostają ślady po ciężkich ostrzałach z moździerzy czy dział artyleryjskich, dym po wybuchach ogranicza widoczność, wszędzie widać ciała poległych, ślady po kulach itd. Oprócz szeregu broni z tamtego okresu, jakie używane są podczas regularnych potyczek (karabiny, pistolety, granaty, etc.), osoby zasiadające przed monitorem komputera mogą także korzystać z kilku rodzajów pojazdów (np. czołgów).
W porównaniu z oryginałem, wydłużono czas potrzebny na ukończenie całej gry. Twórcy postarali się o kilka ścieżek/możliwości pokonywania poszczególnych scenariuszy, tak aby zmniejszyć poczucie liniowości rozgrywki (przygotowane mapy są zaś kilka razy większe aniżeli były w Call of Duty). W dalszym ciągu gracze mają z góry ustalone zadania do wykonania, jednak teraz dowolnie wybierają kolejność ich wypełniania, z wyraźnym zaznaczeniem, że wpływa ona na rozwój danej misji (zniszczenie posterunku wroga na samym początku zmniejszy liczebność przeciwników i ułatwi późniejsze działania, gdy zaś wybierzemy na starcie inny cel do wykonania - konieczna będzie wzmożona obrona przez szturmującymi zewsząd oponentami itd.).
W Call of Duty 2 wykorzystano mocno zmodyfikowany silnik graficzny Quake 3, usprawniony pod kątem obecnych możliwości kart graficznych czy osiągnięć sprzętowych komputerów klasy PC. Interfejs gry nie zmienił się w dużym stopniu w porównaniu z „jedynką”. Z łatwością jednak można dostrzec inne usprawnienia wizualne - większe dopracowanie szczegółów, ładniejsze tekstury, nowe modele postaci czy animacje ich poruszania się. Bardzo dobrze wypadają też efekty cieniowania, wybuchów, wystrzałów czy unoszącego się dymu. Nie zapomniano również o zaimplementowaniu nowych algorytmów odpowiedzialnych za inteligencję komputerowego przeciwnika, jak i trybie multiplayer (oprócz standardowych opcji rozgrywki wieloosobowej w stylu Deathmatch czy Capture the Flag, pojawia się też kilka nowych).

Tym samym producenci ze studia Neversoft wprowadzili do serii unikalną możliwość konfrontacji team vs team. Na samym początku rozgrywki można stworzyć swojego własnego bohatera od podstaw i sterować nim podczas wykonywania przeróżnych karkołomnych ewolucji, a ponadto, co stanowi kolejną nowość, istnieje możliwość natychmiastowego przełączenia się na kontrolę innego skatera. Autorzy cyklu postarali się o zwiększenie możliwości akrobatycznych skaterów, a co za tym idzie uproszczenie kontroli, dzięki czemu teraz można wykonywać jeszcze bardziej widowiskowe wyczyny, jak choćby skok z drapacza chmur, rzecz jasna z jednoczesnym kręceniem młynków, itp. Wszystkie kolejne części serii co roku przechodziły mniej lub bardziej poważną renowację, oferując szereg nowych możliwości oraz zaktualizowaną bazę danych zespołów i zawodników. Nie inaczej jest i tym razem.
Kolejna odsłona hokeja ze stajni EA Sports przynosi wiele nowości w najważniejszych, zręcznościowych aspektach programu. Seria niemal od zawsze charakteryzowała się dużą dozą realizmu, oferując maniakom hokeja na lodzie prawdziwą ucztę wrażeń. Odsłona oznaczona numerkiem 07 jest pod tym względem szczególnie godna uwagi, gdyż oferuje zupełnie nowy poziom sprawowania kontroli nad zawodnikiem. Górnymi i dolnymi kończynami zawodnika sterujemy bowiem w sposób niezależny, osobne przyciski odpowiadają za ruchy i uderzenia kijem, inne zaś wpływają na ruch i ustawienia łyżew (w przypadku skorzystania z joypada z gałkami analogowymi, jedna gałka odpowiada za ręce, druga za nogi). Oczywiście, program zapewnia odmienną paletę zagrań, w zależności od tego, czy aktualnie jesteśmy przy krążku i atakujemy, czy też gdy staramy się go wyłuskać, broniąc się przed ofensywą rywala. Umiejętne zastawianie się i wykorzystywanie walorów fizycznych poszczególnych hokeistów często jest kluczem do zwycięstwa. Ze szczególną pieczołowitością pracowano także nad sposobem wykonywania rzutów karnych – pojedynki jeden-na-jeden z bramkarzami zostały znacząco poprawione. Cała zreformowana mechanika rozgrywki, chociaż może wydawać się nieco kłopotliwa, ma za zadanie uczynić rozgrywkę jeszcze bardziej techniczną i realistyczną, co z pewnością powinno zadowolić fanów tego niezwykle kontaktowego sportu.
Jeśli zmęczymy się bojami na lodzie, możemy nieco wypocząć i złapać oddech na ławce, i to nie tylko kar, ale i trenerskiej – w specjalnym trybie Dynasty Mode wcielamy się bowiem w głównego menadżera jednej z dostępnych w grze drużyn. Wiąże się to oczywiście z koniecznością podejmowania kluczowych dla zespołu decyzji, zarówno personalnych (kadra zawodnicza), jak i sportowych (skład, formacja) czy finansowych (wynagrodzenia). Wyważenie wszystkich tych kwestii szybko okazuje się problematyczne, zważywszy na ograniczenia natury monetarnej – dlatego też złożenie drużyny marzeń wymaga sporego nakładu pracy. Każdy mecz na żywo komentowany jest przez doświadczonych, profesjonalnych sprawozdawców telewizyjnych – Gary'ego Thorne'a oraz Billa Clementa. Fachowe komentarze, okołomeczowe ciekawostki oraz żywiołowa reakcja na kluczowe momenty rozgrywki (ważne bramki, ciężkie kontuzje, starcia między zawodnikami) powodują, iż mamy wrażenie oglądania prawdziwego spotkania hokejowego.

Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 iSO
It's been four years in development, but it looks like M!cro$oft's Office developers have used their time well. Office 2007, in any of its eight editions, is quite a new broom and the almost-top-of-the-line Enterprise edition includes all five main applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access - as well as some very useful extras.
The fundamental change in the new Office is the way you interact with the main programs: this is down to the Ribbon. Gone are the standard menu bar with toolbar beneath and instead you have a series of tabs, each showing panels of icons with the most commonly-used tools and functions on them. Switching between tabs gives new sets of icons and the Ribbon is bolstered by the mini toolbar, which fades in near your mouse pointer for making format changes.
After a few minutes you start to get the idea of the Ribbon and for most functions it proves a lot quicker to use than the old interface. There are some idiosyncrasies, though. Why has the file menu become an Office button in the top left-hand corner of the screen and why is the default Ribbon tab labelled Home? These seem to be changes for change's sake.
Office now uses the XML file format for consistency across all the main applications, though it still differentiates them with .docx, .xlsx and .pptx filetypes. Files are automatically compressed with Zip compression.
With all the work concentrated on the interface, the feature sets of the main applications haven't changed as much. Word, Excel and PowerPoint all offer themes, like super styles, covering colours and design elements as well as typography. Switch themes and the look of the entire document changes.
Many formatting and layout alterations you make in the big three apps can be previewed by hovering your mouse pointer over the style, font, colour or whatever selectors. New fonts are supplied with Office and widely used in Word, along with a new default line spacing of 1.15 lines. These give documents a modern, open feel.
Excel looks a lot different in Office 2007, not just because of the Ribbon, but also because of improvements in its formatting options. It's much easier to apply useful visual aids, such as row colour banding, and effects like percentage tints to colours. The charting module is much easier to use, too, and resulting charts have a more contemporary look.
As with Word and Excel, formatting is designed to be much simpler in PowerPoint. Great use is made of styles and themes to quickly change the look of one, many or all slides in a presentation and features like SmartArt make it very easy to create attractive lists, bullet points and business graphics. Imported photos can be given frames with drop-shadows or reflections.
Outlook has had a partial overhaul, with the ribbon appearing in the e-mail editing pane but menus and toolbars appearing in the main program. Message editing is more comprehensive and there's a new To Do mini-pane that enables you to display brief reminders of things in your calendar and messages that need replies. Outlook has a faster search, courtesy of Windows Desktop Search 3, and a more flexible calendar function.
Access isn't available in all editions of Office 2007, but then it's a specialist tool. The database module has been updated and uses the Ribbon, but in a rather half-hearted way, with a lot of blank space. It also discourages you from using Visual Basic for Applications to tailor Access databases, preferring the more secure - and less versatile - Access Macro Language. Wouldn't it be better to tighten the security in VBA?
Other applications included in the Enterprise Edition are Groove, InfoPath, OneNote and Publisher. Of these, Publisher has least in the way of operational improvements, though it's now easier to incorporate templates and house styles into documents.
Groove is a tool which lets remote groups of people work together and share common documents and resources. It's the first incarnation of a product M!cro$oft bought a couple of years back and hasn't yet been fully integrated into the Office fold, even cosmetically.
InfoPath is the Office forms tool and enables you to create and complete forms either on paper or electronically. It now handles e-mail forms and can publish to a server, so they can be completed by anybody with a Web browser.
OneNote, which started life as a Tablet PC tool, can be used on regular PCs too and is a versatile note-taking and management application. You can share notes across a network and include pictures and handwriting.
